Notice for China-bound Travelers (Updated April 25, 2023)

2023-04-25

Starting from 29 April 2023 (German local time), antigen self-test results within 48 hours prior to boarding will be accepted for international airline passengers flying to China besides PCR test. Airlines will no longer check test results before boarding. The Chinese Consulate General in Frankfurt am Main has updated the Guide on Epidemic Prevention and Control Measures for China-bound Travelers. In order to avoid any travel delays and disruptions, we recommend that all travelers read and follow the instructions on the guidance carefully.

Guide on Epidemic Prevention and Control Measures for China-bound Travelers

1. Pre-departure test

COVID-19 PCR test or antigen test (including self-testing with kits) are required within 48 hours before boarding China-bound flights. Passengers are required to travel to China with a negative test result. If you received a positive test result, you should only travel to China when you tested negative against COVID-19.

2. Health declaration to China Customs

Passengers are required to declare negative test result to China Customs by filling out the Health Declaration Form on the WeChat mini-program of China Customs (scan the QR code below), or at https://htdecl.chinaport.gov.cn, or via the China Customs APP.

3. Airlines will no longer check the negative PCR or antigen test results.

4. Self-protection on the Aircraft

Passengers are suggested to abide by the epidemic prevention requirements of the airlines and take good personal protection to reduce the risk of infection.

5. Inspection upon Entry

Upon arrival at the port, passengers should complete necessary customs formalities with the Customs Health Declaration Code. No further requirements will be imposed on those who have passed the health declarations and routine entry inspections. The customs will conduct random sampling inspections according to a certain proportion. Those having anormalies in their health declarations or symptoms such as fever are required to cooperate with the customs in epidemiological investigations, medical investigations, etc., and take sampling and testing of relevant infectious diseases.

6. After-entry Epidemic Prevention and Control

After entry into China, passengers should strictly abide by the local epidemic prevention and control requirements.
